OUGD502: Sergey Shapiro

I have recently been doing some lettering commissions and always become stuck with how many sketches to present to a client and whether they should be more finalised or kept in pencil.  I sought help from a couple of artists whose work I follow, noting that they create work of this kind for a variety of clients. Sergey Shapiro is among these lettering artists and I've seen a lot of his final solutions to briefs.  Although his answer is short it is clearly important and time saving to show initial sketches rather than final pieces.  It also gives the client an idea of how you are working, though I am going to try and photograph the sketches under good lighting.
